Security Wrench for T-Head Screw - Long
Price: $5.50
Availability: In Stock
Item #: SEC-4L -

Security Kit Installation ToolExtra long wrench allows the wrench to go further behind the artwork. Works well with wider frames.

Security hardware will deter unauthorized individuals from lifting a framed picture off its hanging support. Removal of a picture from the wall requires turning concealed T-Head Screws hidden behind the frame.

Please keep in mind that any security hanging system can be defeated by someone with enough opportunity and determination to do so. Casual theft and tampering, however, will be effectively eliminated.

Security hardware can be installed on just about any type of wood frame, with the exception of very narrow (less than 5/8" wide) frames. It can also be used on most metal frames made during the last twenty-five years.

Installing security hangers takes more patience than skill and can be mastered by just about anyone. A basic instruction sheet is included with orders for each type.

Drywall (sheetrock) walls are ideal for security picture hanger installations. Hard or solid wall surfaces will require a bit more time and care.

It takes about fifteen minutes to security-install a framed picture. Except for the recommended Security Wrench, no special or unusual tools are required.

In addition to theft-prevention, security picture hangers provide the benefit of keeping framed pictures hanging permanently straight and level on the wall. This is a particularly valuable feature in situations where vibration (heavy foot traffic, machinery, earthquakes) is an issue.

Using Picture Security Hardware on Slanted or Angled Walls

Lock-In Hangers may be also be used to hang frames on slanted or angled walls (attic walls, walls under roof eaves, etc.) so that the frames are held flush to the wall.

The hanging process can get a little tricky on a slanted wall because you are working against gravity--a second pair of hands is usually needed--but once the frame is properly secured it will be held in place against the wall surface.

Because the Wall Brackets used at the top of the frame will not be quite as secure on a slanted wall as on a normal wall, for additional safety we recommend adding one of our Extra T-Lock screw sets for either wood frames or metal frames at the bottom of each frame when hanging pictures on any slanted or angled wall. This will provide two locking points at the bottom of the frame instead of just one.

You can also use two, three or four or these same Extra T-Lock sets by themselves to hang a frame on a slanted wall. Keep in mind, however, that if you use this method you will need to measure and install the hardware in the wall very precisely since no alignment adjustment will be possible afterwards.
