Flanger Hanger Small
Flanger Hanger has a flange on one side that grips the inside edge of the frame. This braces the hanger in position and helps prevent screw tear-out on narrow wood frames
Flanger hangers are supplied in sets, with a specific left and right hanger in each set
2" long x 1/2" wide
Includes #4 x 1/2" screws
1/2" wide Flanger we supply is strong enough to be used on frames up to 20" x 30" in size
Flanger Hanger - one set
Lay the frame face down on a soft surface.
Place the left and right Flanger hangers in position on the side rails of the frame, between one-quarter and one-third of the way down from the top of the frame. Both hangers should angle upwards, towards the top of the frame.
If the frame has a dust cover (backing paper), you will need to cut 2" long slits in the backing paper with a razor blade or utility knife just along the inside edge of the frame at the positions where the Flangers will be attached in order to accommodate the downward flange of the Flanger hangers.
Mark for and pre-drill holes for the Flanger mounting screws, being careful not to drill through the face of the frame.
Holding the Flanger firmly up against the inside edge of the frame, mount left and right hangers to the frame with the screws provided.
Attach picture wire to the Flangers. Appropriate wire size will depend on the weight of the picture.
Leave enough slack in the wire so that when it is pulled taut up against the back of the frame, the center point of the wire reaches about half the distance between the hanger position and the top of the frame.
Hang the picture on a picture hook.
