ORDERING INFORMATION
The picture frame hangers presented on this page are suitable for most small to medium size wood frames up to about 1" wide. The low profile of these hangers makes them less obtrusive than bulky screw eye hangers that protrude outward from the back of frames.
The medium (HWR-716) and small (HWR-3051) one-hole hangers attach to the back of wood picture frames with a single #6 pan head tapping screw. The mini hanger (HWR-5589) uses a smaller #4 pan head tapping screw and the Flanger hanger (HWR-4736) takes two #4 pan head tapping screws on each hanger.
The Flanger hanger, as its name implies, has a flange on one side that grips the inside edge of the frame. This useful feature braces the hanger in position and helps prevent screw tear-out on narrow wood frames. The 1/2" wide Flanger we supply is strong enough to be used on frames up to 20" x 30" in size. Flanger hangers are supplied in sets, with a specific left and right hanger in each set. The one-hole hangers on this page are not left or right specific.
All hangers on this page come with screws. The standard screw lengths we supply in each case will work for the majority of frames on which the hanger should be installed. These standard screw lengths are noted in the table below. If you wish, you can substitute longer or shorter screws for any of the hangers on this page. The available lengths are listed in the table below. There is no extra charge for screw substitution. Screw length only may be changed, not size (for example a #6 screw may not be substituted for a #4 screw). Requesting a non-standard screw length for hangers may delay the shipping of your order by a day or two. To order a non-standard screw length for any hanger on this page, make your request at the time of ordering by using the Special Instructions/Comments box on the shopping cart form. Please be as specific and as clear as possible when making your request. No action on your part is necessary if you want the standard screw for your hanger order. Standard screws are sent automatically unless we receive a substitution request.
Always double check to make sure that the hanger screw length you use will not break out on the front face of your frames when the hangers are installed. Reducing the length of hanger screws also reduces hanger holding power. Use shorter than standard screws only when absolutely necessary to avoid break out.
