Cleat
Picture Hangers
|
We offer three
different cleat hanging systems, classified as Light-Duty,
Medium-Duty and Heavy-Duty. All are based on the traditional
"French Cleat" principle used in carpentry, where
interlocking wood wedges are employed to hold an object in
place.
Our modern aluminum
extrusion cleat hangers create simple, strong and very
reliable installations for virtually any flat object you
want to hang on a wall: artwork, panels, signage, framed
mirrors, etc.
The medium and
heavy-duty versions are capable of supporting very heavy
items that no other hanging method can handle. The
light-duty versions are a quick and easy way to hang
average-size wood and metal picture frames, plaques and
signs.
Because cleats are
available in different lengths within each weight
classification and because there are other variables
involved besides the capability of the cleat hardware
itself, definitive weight parameters cannot be given for the
three cleat classifications, but a general guideline appears
below:
